Terms of use
Draft pending legal review before launch.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Sosober app, which lets a person who wants to quit alcohol alert a support network of their choice, mark risk zones and track sober days and money saved.
2. Minimum age
Use is limited to people aged 18 or over.
3. Account and data
Only a name is required to use the app. Data processing is described in the privacy policy, including the explicit consent for health related data.
4. Access
The role of the person quitting alcohol requires a subscription of €0.99 per month with a 7 day free trial. The first charge happens when the trial ends and renews monthly. Management and cancellation happen in your App Store or Google Play account. The support role is free.
If the trial ends without a subscription, access to the app features is suspended until payment is activated. Public help phone numbers remain accessible on the subscription screen itself.
5. Responsible use
- Do not use the SOS button abusively or to harass others.
- Respect the people in your network and the confidentiality of what they share.
- Do not use the app for unlawful activities.
6. Availability
We do our best to keep the service available, but we cannot guarantee notification delivery in every case, since it depends on the operating system, connectivity and each device's settings. Risk zone alerts also depend on location permissions and battery saving settings.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we accept no liability for damages arising from the use of or inability to use the app, nor for the acts or omissions of the people in the support network.
8. Cancellation and deletion
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Profile, which removes your data from our servers.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Relevant changes will be announced in the app.
